Why classical music gets falsely claimed

Mozart wrote the same notes for everyone. When fifty orchestras record the same piece, every recording sounds close to the others. Automated matching listens for the notes, not for who played them, so it can mistake one recording for another.

Many labels register their own recordings as reference files. When you upload a video, the system compares your audio against those files. If your music matches their recording of the same public-domain piece, your video gets a claim, even though nobody owns the underlying composition. The claim comes from the similarity between recordings, not from anything you did wrong.
