Mozart background music for commercial use
Mozart is the default sound of polished, optimistic background music, which is why agencies keep asking whether a given recording is actually cleared for client work. With Classical Sync the answer is documented: public-domain Mozart scores, software rendered masters we own, and a Commercial tier that explicitly covers client and freelance work, paid web and social advertising, small business marketing, and multi project use for the same licensee. One payment per track, starting well below a stock library enterprise seat, with paperwork your clients can verify themselves.
Recommended starting tier: Commercial $99 one-time
Client work, paid web/social ads & small-business marketing. Multi-project use.
What this license covers for commercial use
The Commercial tier covers everything in Creator plus client and freelance work, music inside paid web and social ad creative, small business marketing, mass reproduction for one downloadable title, and multi project use for the same licensee. That is the working definition of commercial background use: you get paid by a client, the music runs inside paid placements, or one license needs to stretch across a campaign. It excludes TV, radio, cinema, theatrical film, festivals, streaming productions, and broadcast advertising, which sit in Broadcast and Film.
For freelancers and studios, the multi project clause is the money saver: one Commercial license per track serves the same licensee across projects instead of relicensing per video. Name the licensee as the party who will reuse the track, keep the license PDF in the client file, and hand the client the verification URL so their own uploads are protected. If a project later jumps to broadcast, upgrade for the price difference only.
Which Mozart tracks fit background use
The Turkish March from Piano Sonata No. 11 is the famous one: playful and martial, instantly recognizable, perfect for intros, product reveals, and energetic openers that need a smile. The Figaro Overture is a fast, playful curtain raiser for launches, unboxings, and cooking content. The Jupiter Symphony finale brings triumphant urgency for finales, wins, and before and after sequences.
For calm beds, the Clarinet Concerto second movement and Piano Concerto No. 21 second movement are lyric and unhurried, ideal under voiceover, testimonials, and explainers where the music must never compete. Both run under a minute in this catalog, which matches ad and social cutdowns. Preview all five against your edit, license the exact cut, and keep the rest of the catalog in mind for the next brief.
How to use them in client projects
Cut the catalog excerpt to your deliverable length, duck it under dialogue, and master it a touch quieter than you think: Mozart carries a lot of upper harmonic energy and small speakers exaggerate it. Because the compositions are public domain there are no performance royalties to report and no publisher to clear; your compliance file is simply the license PDF and the verification URL, which you can forward to the client as their proof of rights.
Deliver the final mix, not the standalone WAV, since resale of the recording as audio is excluded. If the client will run the video as paid social creative, confirm you hold the Commercial tier before launch, because Creator excludes music inside paid ad creative. Save the license ID in the project tracker so renewals are never a question: the license is perpetual inside its tier.
Content ID and paid placements
We do not register these Mozart masters with Content ID and we do not claim ad revenue from licensed uses, so client uploads and whitelisted ad accounts start clean from our side. Platforms can still generate third party matches against other Mozart recordings, and paid distribution multiplies the surfaces where that can happen, which is why the verification URL matters more for commercial work than anywhere else.
If a claim hits a client video or ad, answer with the license ID and verification URL and email support with the license ID, verification URL, and affected URL. We use commercially reasonable efforts to release our claim within 10 business days of a complete notice. The PDF shows the Master ID and SHA-256, so media buyers and client legal teams get provenance, not promises.

FAQ
Can I use Mozart in paid social ads?
Yes, with the Commercial tier or higher, which explicitly covers music inside paid web and social advertising. The Creator tier excludes music inside paid ad creative, so boost any Creator licensed cut to Commercial before it runs as an ad. The upgrade costs the price difference only.
One license for all my client videos?
A Commercial license gives multi project use for the same licensee, so one license per track covers that licensee across projects. Separate clients need their own licenses, and broadcast or theatrical placements need Broadcast and Film. Keep each license PDF in the matching client file with its verification URL.
What does a Classical Sync license cover?
You license our software rendered master recording for one named project under the tier you buy, perpetual and worldwide. Creator ($29 one time) covers one project or series, including monetized YouTube with platform served ads, streaming podcasts, and wedding videos. Commercial ($99 one time) adds client and freelance work, music inside paid web and social advertising, small business marketing, and multi project use for the same licensee. Broadcast and Film ($499 one time) adds TV, radio, cinema, theatrical film, festivals, streaming and VOD productions, and broadcast advertising. Title to the recording stays with Magnolia Apps LLC. Every tier delivers the WAV, the license PDF, and a public verification URL.
Will this music trigger a YouTube Content ID claim?
Our masters are not registered with Content ID as reference files, so a licensed use starts claim free from our side. If a claim still appears, email licensing@thepodcastapp.dev with your license ID, your public verification URL, and the video URL. We use commercially reasonable efforts to release our claim within 10 business days of a complete notice. Third party or automated platform claims can still occur on any platform, and that pledge covers our own enrollment of the delivered master.
Do I have to credit the composer or Classical Sync?
No attribution is required. The underlying compositions are in the public domain, and you license only our recording of them from Magnolia Apps LLC. A credit line such as the track title and composer is welcome but optional. What you must not do is register the recording with a PRO, Content ID, or fingerprinting service, resell it as a standalone audio product or sample library, or sublicense it beyond delivering your named project.
What files do I receive after checkout?
Every license includes the licensed WAV (delivered by a 15 minute signed download URL and by email), a license PDF that records the terms version, hash, timestamp, Master ID, and SHA-256, plus a public verification URL of the form /verify?id= that proves the license to YouTube, clients, or distributors. Checkout runs through Stripe, one payment per track, with a 14 day money back guarantee. Keep the license ID with your project files so any dispute can be answered in one email.
